Margarida Vale de Gato(Portugal, 1973)
The poetry of Margarida Vale de Gato exhibits a variety of forms, and different poetic devices. A sparing use of punctuation and a great variety in rhythm and sound effects are characteristic of her work. In addition, her poems include many quotations, adding several layers of meaning concealed beneath an apparent lightness and simplicity. In her most recent collection Lançamento (2016), all the poems are titled with first names, incorporating a note of intimacy. Vale de Gato is also a translator of English and French literature.
