Patrick Peeters was born in 1967 in Hasselt, Belgium. He studied Dutch and English Language and Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Leuven. He worked for six years at the same university as a research assistant in Modern Dutch Literature and thereafter worked as an assistant publisher in an academic publishing house. He was an editor for the literary magazine Freespace Nieuwzuid, is a regular contributor to Poëziekrant and publishes on Flemish and Dutch poetry in several other magazines. He currently works in Antwerp at the Flemish Literature Fund, an organisation that promotes literature from Flanders, the Northern part of Belgium, abroad.
